free your voice
Welcome! I am Celia Miller, vocal coach at Celia’s Voice Studio. My goal as a teacher is to help each singer discover and release their unique voice with a foundation of healthy vocal technique. You can sing effortlessly and powerfully. I teach private lessons and workshops, host performances for passionate singers (Singers Café), and am a published singer-songwriter on piano and guitar.
FREE YOUR VOICE
I love the challenge of figuring out the heart of a singer’s voice, and what they need to do, starting now, to see progress in weeks.
My favorite thing to teach singers is how to blend or mix their lower and upper registers - it impacts so many things. Your tone, pitch, and flexiblity. Sing powerfully without fear of strain, breaks, pitch problems or limited range.
In your sessions with me you will gain practical, visual and felt insight into how your voice works, and gain the tools to improve your singing for recording, performing, auditioning, songwriting, even speaking.
My background is in R&B, jazz, and folk but I also love to teach musical theater, rock, and pop.
My other passions as a teacher are to release the performer in you, to work with your songwriting, to unlock the magic of music theory with all its wonderful patterns, and to help you develop an accompanying instrument if you wish, like guitar, piano or ukulele.
With a background of 7 years training with master teachers of vocal technique, 16 years of teaching in my private studio, Greenfield Community College, and the Springfield Conservatory of Music, and 30 years of performance, recording and songwriting, I am an ideal teacher for singers serious about improving their voice!

"Wicked good at what she does."
Celia is wicked good at what she does. She teaches technique. She troubleshoots. She keeps you on your toes. She inspires and encourages and by the end of the lesson you will realize you’ve worked harder than you expected, and made some great strides. Voice teacher doesn’t quite cover all that she does. James Smith

"intuitive, knowledgable, efficient"
I'm a life-long musician.(BA in performance at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, California), and I can say unequivocally that Celia is an intuitive, knowledgeable and efficient instructor. I highly recommend her services and hope you find her as awesome as I do." Robin Saylor

"Broad range of expertise"
Celia is a versatile, creative, and compassionate teacher who has worked with my daughter for more than four years. She has a broad range of experience and expertise in both the music world and pedagogy. Celia respects and guides her students goals and aspirations. The results of her teaching are both admirable and effective. I have myself been Her student, and I would recommend no music and voice teacher as her equal. Jim Dunn
Your Voice Coach
Celia Miller's music career spans three decades of performing, songwriting, and teaching. She credits her pedagogy to the Speech Level Singing method in which she was certified by Master teachers from 2008-2014. With over 15 years of voice coaching, Celia teaches at her Holyoke studio and has taught Jazz/Contemporary Vocal at Greenfield Community College of Massachusetts as well as voice and piano at The Springfield Conservatory. Celia loves teaching music theory, reading, plays jazz, and bossa nova, folk, pop, R&B on guitar, and accompanies her students on piano. Celia’s decades long regional performing - solo and in bands - means she brings a wealth of experience to her work with performing artists. She teaches songwriting from her own background of song-crafting and publishing. Her biannual "Singers Cafe's" provide all her students with performance opportunities to hone their stagecraft and work with live bands.

"my confidence is through the roof."
"Although I've been a celebrated singer my whole life, I didn't truly understand how my voice worked. Celia, my tone, my control, and my flexibility have improved so much that I no longer worry about "the right key”. I can step out there and pull off just about anything, even when the entire song sits right on (what used to be) my break! As a result, my confidence is through the roof." Jenny Katz Brandoli

"fantastic teacher"
"I think you're a fantastic teacher in all aspects. I first came to you about a year ago and I'm happy with how strong my voice feels, especially since I've been told before (by MDs) that the only way to achieve cord closure is surgically. When we part each time, I feel like singing everything, even street signs :)” Anastasia Kurdia
